Community Sports Coaching Foundation’s Executive Operations Manager, Robbie Peers has worked with us as our Basketball coach for the past six years. This has had a very positive impact throughout our school. Children are taught the importance of life skills which include tolerance, team spirit, perseverance and respect. Playground behaviour has improved as children continue their basketball skills during playtime. The wider community, including parents, grandparents and carers have observed and appreciated the skills their children have learnt both in lesson time and in the after school club.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to recommend the work of Community Sports Coaching Foundation to colleague Headteachers. We are all aware of both the opportunities and pitfalls involved in inviting coaches to cover the PE curriculum as part of PPA or as part of other arrangements in primary schools. Headteacher’s overwhelming concerns are of course for the quality of the experience offered to individual children, groups or classes, and also with the personal and professional qualities of coaches and their commitment to maintaining and supporting the ethos of the school. I have known the Executive Operations Manager of Community Sports Coaching Foundation, Robbie Peers for fifteen years and am able to recommend his work, which has consistently been of the highest standard, without reservation. His commitment to bringing high quality sporting experiences to all children is lived out in his personal approach and the extremely high standards he expects from any coach associated with the company. The consistency, expertise, quality, co-operation and care offered by Community Sports Coaching Foundation would be an asset to any school. Hooray – an end to PE/Sport nightmares!

In the time I have known Community Sports Coaching Foundation; I have always been impressed with their attitude towards to pupil participation and enjoyment. Many teachers that I come into contact with at the schools they work in, continually tell me how impressed they are with the conduct of the coaches and how reliable and dependable they are. The coaches are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about getting young people involved in sport and Basketball in particular. The coaches have many years of experience of being involved in playing and coaching basketball at the highest level and we are very lucky in Bromley to have such an organisation working in our local borough I have many schools asking me about getting Basketball coaches into their schools and I have no hesitation in recommending Community Sports Coaching Foundation and their team of coaches.

Since being recommended to Community Sports Coaching Foundation, all I have heard from my schools is the positive impact the company has had on pupils participation and enjoyment in Physical Education. Schools and teachers rightly have priorities in other areas of the curriculum, and although being an important aspect of their education, PE is not always seen as one of these. The service Community Sports Coaching Foundation provides in such cases is invaluable. Delivering high quality PE lessons in a range of activities alongside breakfast, lunch-time, and after school clubs is an opportunity schools cannot afford to ignore. Hard-working and reliable coaches are not easy to come by, Community Sports Coaching Foundation also provide opportunities that some children would otherwise not experience in school environments
Joe Dolan, SSCO Charles Darwin and Coopers Technology College

For the past six years, we have had professional sports coaching from Community Sports Coaching Foundation that has benefited both the children and teachers at our school. Through their weekly sessions with a professional coach, the children have developed their skills and abilities in a range of sporting activities. Some children who lacked confidence have blossomed while others have greatly improved their abilities to work together in teams. In a school where all the teachers and teaching assistants are female, it is wonderful to have such good male role models coaching the children. Teachers have been involved in observing and working alongside the coaches as part of their professional development and there has always been a good working relationship between the coaches and the school. Most of all, the children have grown in their enjoyment of sports, something that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Mrs Osborne, Headteacher at Pickhurst Infant School

Since being introduced to the services of Community Sports Coaching Foundation, I have been genuinely impressed by the absolute professionalism of the company. High Quality Physical Education & Sport is very much at the heart of their work with the provision of experienced, qualified coaches able to deliver a multi-sports package that regularly captures the enthusiasm of the students. This programme of delivery can also provide invaluable training support for non-specialist teachers. The schools access the same coaches every week therefore establishing sound continuity and progression within the teaching programme. Punctuality and outstanding behavioral management are regularly adhered to as well. At a time when many other Primaries are interested in signing up to the scheme, it is worth adding that it is a company that thrives on constructive feedback as a means of progressing and providing the best possible service for schools everywhere…and I’m delighted to add that the feedback from those teachers within my link schools has been incredibly positive with the coaching that their pupils have received and how in many cases, it has further enriched their appreciation of such a life-enhancing curricular subject.

Robbie Peers came to London as the Head Coach of London Towers Basketball Club, after a very successful time at Chester Jets as both a player and a Coach. Robbie’s passion for Basketball in the Capital did not stop with London Towers in the BBL. He concentrated on building Basketball relationships within the South East of London, focusing on primary Schools. After 8 very successful years, the programmes boast the BIGGEST Primary School, Basketball programme in London: Coaching in schools, to an Inter School Leagues. As England Basketball Regional Development Manager for London, I am excited about what Robbie and his programme in doing for London Basketball, keep up the excellent work.

I have known Community Sports Coaching Foundation for nearly 6 years and I have found them to be a very professional organisation. I am the Partnership Development Manager for Bromley School Sports Partnership (West). Their Principle Coach, Robbie Peers and team of coaches work in many local schools before, during and after school. They provide both curriculum lessons and extra-curricular clubs and activities within Bromley schools. They provide lessons to all areas in Key Stage 1 and 2 and to all abilities. The extra-curricular clubs are followed up by tournaments that Community Sports themselves plan, organise and run. I have been along to some of these and they are always enjoyable experiences for all the children involved “Community Sports hold tournaments not just for the more talented pupils, but also where the emphasis is very much on participation and enjoyment. Community Sports will this year be taking a greater role in the delivery of the Bromley Primary Schools Basketball Competition which will be held here at Kelsey Park, this tournament is available to every primary school in Bromley to enter. Community Sports will then coach and manage the Bromley representative team for the London Mini Youth Games 2009.
