History

Community Sports Coaching Foundation is a charitable trust, non-profit coaching organisation. This was formed in 2010, to follow up the programmes that had been successfully delivered by the community group, Community Sports Coaching South that operated in London from 2003-2010. The Foundations aim is to use sport as a vehicle to re-engage marginalised young people who come from a socio-economically disadvantaged background and those that live in deprived areas. We as a Foundation want to improve their self esteem and confidence and give them direction through mentoring, training and certification programmes.

The Foundations founder, Robbie Peers originally arrived in London to coach London Towers Basketball team in 2003, but realised that through working on outreach programmes that he wanted to make a difference to young people in this area through sport in general. Since then he has managed and created various programmes in schools, youth clubs and community centres. Robbie Peers has been working closely with School Sports Partnership, Head teachers and local authorities to ensure that the activity provided is of high quality. The Foundation has recently set up a steering group of these local providers to ensure that the goals and targets are met.

Community Sports Coaching Foundation hopes to continue to strengthen sport activities in the region. The Foundation took control of delivering Bromley primary schools Basketball tournaments with the winners representing the Borough in the London mini youth games.
CSCF is not the preferred option for schools in the area who want to provide their pupils with additional high quality sports coaching; this is reflected through their feedback from staff and pupils alike.
